How do I sign up for Wells Fargo Online® statements?

Wells Fargo Online comes with the ability to receive and view statements for most of your accounts online. Simply enroll to set up a username and password to access your personal and business accounts online.

If you already have a username and password, sign on to view your statements online. Or, to change how you wish to receive your statements and other documents, access Manage Delivery Preferences from Statements and Documents.

How much does it cost to receive statements through Wells Fargo Online?

It’s free to receive statements online.

Will my Wells Fargo Online statement look the same as my regular printed statement?

Yes, your Wells Fargo Online statement is just the same as your paper statement and is considered an official document. It contains all the information that is included on your paper statements. A printed version of a Wells Fargo Online statement is the same as a paper statement mailed via U.S. Mail.

What if I want to receive paper statements for my eligible accounts?

To resume receiving your paper statements in the mail, sign on to update your delivery preference. Once you make your request, your next statement may be delivered through Wells Fargo Online, but all subsequent months will be delivered by mail as paper statements.

If I decide later to switch back to paper statements, will I still be able to view historical online statements?

If you choose “Online & Mail” as your delivery preference, you will continue to have access to both current and historical online statements.

If you choose “Mail,” you will no longer have access to historical online statements, and your current statements will be delivered to you by mail. Should you need a copy of an eligible historical online statement, you can request a statement copy (at no charge) by calling 1-800-742-4932.

Are Wells Fargo Online statements secure?

Yes, with Wells Fargo Online or Wells Fargo Business Online, your online statements are protected.

What are the benefits of switching to Wells Fargo Online statements?

With Wells Fargo Online statements you can:

  • Quickly and easily access past statements.
  • Help to lessen the risk of fraud and identity theft that comes with paper statements.
  • Reduce clutter and conserve trees by printing only what's needed.
  • Receive email notifications as soon as your statements are ready.

What is the difference between my Account Activity and a Wells Fargo Online statement?

Both your Account Activity screen and your Wells Fargo Online statements show your transaction history. Here are the key differences:

  • The Account Activity screen shows all of your recent and pending transactions for the past 60-90 days.
  • Wells Fargo Online statements are electronic versions of the monthly paper statements that you receive by mail. They include transactions from a set period of time (a statement cycle) and do not include any pending transactions.

For example: Your credit card statement shows the transactions you made before the statement closing date and the current amount owed. Your credit card Account Activity screen shows the past 60 days of activity, including pending transactions and transactions that occurred after the statement closing date.

How can I view or get copies of my Wells Fargo Online statements?

Simply sign on to view your statements online.

  • You can select only one statement at a time.
  • When you select one of these documents, your device or browser may download and save it. If you have any problems finding or opening the file, check your download folder or consult your device help.
  • To print your statements, you may need to sign on to Wells Fargo Online from a computer.

Saving Wells Fargo Online statements

Once you open your Wells Fargo Online statement, you can save it to your computer. Provide a name for the file using a .pdf extension and a descriptive name that will help you identify the statement (for example: “CheckingMarch2019.pdf”).

Printing Wells Fargo Online statements

Once you’ve opened your statement, you can print it by using the Print function in your browser, or if you’ve saved your statement onto your computer, you can print directly from your PDF reader.

How long will my Wells Fargo Online statements be available?

Wells Fargo retains statement copies for up to seven years for most checking accounts.

The length of time Online Statements are available to view and download varies depending on the product: up to 2 years for credit cards, student loans, home equity lines of credit, and personal loans and lines of credit; and up to 7 years for deposit accounts, home mortgage accounts, and trust and managed investment accounts. How will I know when a new Wells Fargo Online statement for my eligible account(s) is available for viewing?

We'll automatically send you an email at the close of each statement cycle to let you know that your current statement is ready. You must maintain a valid email address to receive your notification. We will also send a notification to your Wells Fargo Secure Inbox through the Message Center.

Sign on to confirm your email address is current and correct. Then check to see if your email account is filing notifications in your spam or bulk folders.  If it is, add Wells Fargo to your address book to ensure that notifications go to your regular inbox.

Even if you have not received an email notification from us, you can sign on and view your statements.

What should I do if my account is not listed on the Change Delivery Preferences page?

If your eligible account is not listed on your Change Delivery Preferences page, you will need to link it to your Wells Fargo Online or Wells Fargo Business Online account. To link your account, simply sign on and click Account Settings through the Profile & Settings menu.

If my account is set up for Wells Fargo Online statements, will I still receive my paper statements?

For eligible accounts (most checking and savings, trust, mortgage, personal lines and loans, student loans and credit card accounts), we discontinue your paper statements when Online Only is selected as a delivery preference. You can view, save, and print your Wells Fargo Online statements anytime, and they are legally the same as the paper version we mail to you.

If you wish to receive paper, you can sign on to change your delivery preference, or by choosing Manage Delivery Preferences from the Statements and Documents page.

Will I receive images of my checks with Wells Fargo Online statements?

You can always access images of your checks for the past 18 months through Wells Fargo Online on your Account Activity page. However when you select Online Only as your statement delivery method, we will stop sending you paper check image statements.

To change your statement delivery preference and resume delivery of paper statements with check images, simply call the number referenced on your statement.

How do I view my Brokerage statement online?

Sign on to Wells Fargo Online, and select the Statements and Documents in the Brokerage menu.

You will continue to receive your paper statements in the mail. If you want to save paper by turning off your paper statements, click Set Up Delivery Preferences on the Statements & Records page and follow the simple instructions.

Can I get Wells Fargo Online statements if my account statements are combined or if I have a Portfolio by Wells Fargo® relationship?

Yes. If you have combined statements or a Portfolio by Wells Fargo relationship, your Wells Fargo Online Statements will look the same as the paper statements you currently receive.

Your combined and Portfolio by Wells Fargo statements may include detailed or summary account information based on the types of accounts linked to these statements and the options available for those accounts.
