How to switch to Wells Fargo

We’ll help you get started banking with Wells Fargo

Make the switch in three steps after opening your new account.

Step 1: Fund your new account

Make a check deposit with the Wells Fargo Mobile® app, set up Direct Deposits, or make a deposit at a branch.

Step 2: Move your payments
Review your old account statement for automatic withdrawals or payments
Step 3: Close your old account
Once scheduled payments, checks, or transactions have cleared, move any remaining balance to Wells Fargo, and close your old account. Most banks allow ACH transfers to third-party banks.
