Your replacement card will have a new card number and expiration date. Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) will remain the same as well as your daily ATM and purchase dollar limits (DDLs).
If you need a debit or prepaid card right away, visit a Wells Fargo banking location to request a temporary instant issue card to access your account until you receive your permanent card in the mail. (Note: Temporary prepaid cards are not available in all banking locations.)

Know your debit, ATM, and prepaid daily card limits before you leave.
Find out your daily ATM and withdrawal limits and daily debit and prepaid card purchase limits before you leave to make sure they will fit your needs. You can call the number on the back of your Wells Fargo card or talk to a banker at a Wells Fargo branch to request an increase.

Choose to be notified when the following occurs on your debit, ATM or prepaid card:
- A suspicious transaction or unusual activity
- A card transaction is declined,
- A foreign transaction occurs.
- Your daily ATM withdrawals or card purchases exceed an amount you choose.
Most of the time, you’re closer to a Wells Fargo ATM than you realize. With 13,000 Wells Fargo ATMs across the country, you’ll probably find yourself near one.
International ATM Use
Customers can use Wells Fargo ATMs to withdraw cash and make balance inquiries with no access fee. To find an ATM, search online or call 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557) for consumer customers and 1-800-CALL-WELLS (1-800-225-5935) for small business customers.
If you are traveling outside of the U.S. and having trouble using an ATM in a foreign country, it might be because you do not have a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN), or because the ATM is not in our participating network.
Most foreign ATMs require a four-digit numeric PIN. If you have an alphabetic PIN, translate the letters into numbers by using the keypad at a Wells Fargo ATM before you travel. You can also do this by visiting a Wells Fargo location or calling us at 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557) for consumer customers and 1-800-CALL-WELLS (1-800-225-5935) for small business customers.
If you are still having difficulty using an ATM in a foreign country, to get cash you can use your Debit or Prepaid Card to get an over-the-counter cash disbursement at a local bank. Wells Fargo charges a fee of 3% of the transaction amount for international over-the-counter cash disbursements.
When you're away from home, smart financial preparation and planning can mean the difference between an amazing adventure or an adventure in financial survival. With these anytime, anywhere products and services, Wells Fargo helps ease travel so you can enjoy your trip from beginning to end.
Please note: Outside of the U.S., Wells Fargo does not have offices that provide service to consumer or small business customers. For assistance when traveling internationally, call us toll-free from most countries outside the U.S. for additional information.
