My password has been disabled

To safeguard your identity and accounts, we may suspend your access to Wells Fargo Online®. To regain access, you’ll need to create a new password. For additional protection, we also recommend that you change your username.

  1. Go to Create New Password.
  2. Enter the requested information.
  3. We'll display your username and ask you to create a new password.
  4. Sign on using your new password and access Change Username through Profile and Settings in the More menu.

Use a unique password and username for your Wells Fargo Online® account, update them regularly, and do not use any part of your email address as your password or username.

I have a temporary password

If you received a temporary password, simply sign on with your username and temporary password. You will then be prompted to create a new password.

I want to change my username or password

It's a good idea to change your password on a regular basis. Use a unique username and password for your Wells Fargo Online® account, update them regularly, and do not use any part of your email address as your username or password.  If you know your username and password and want to change them, sign on, and access Change Password or Change Username through Profile and Settings in the More menu.

I forgot my temporary password or my temporary password has expired

If you are an existing Wells Fargo Online customer:

  1. Go to Create New Password.
  2. Enter the requested information.
  3. We’ll display your username and ask you to create a new password.
  4. Sign on using your new password and username.

If you are a new Wells Fargo Online® customer and you signed up on the phone with Customer Service:

  1. Go to Create New Password.
  2. Enter the requested information.
  3. Create a new password.
  4. Sign on using the username provided to you by the Customer Service representative.
  5. Follow the instructions to complete your enrollment.
  6. Accept the E-Sign consent and agree to the terms of the Online Access Agreement.

I signed up in a Wells Fargo branch and need a username and password

  1. Go to Sign Up.
  2. Enter the requested information.
  3. You’ll be asked to create a username and password.
  4. Follow the instructions to complete your enrollment.
  5. Accept the E-Sign consent and agree to the terms of the Online Access Agreement.

I need help choosing a username or password

To help ensure the security of your username or password you should:

For Username and Password

  • Select a unique username and password and update them regularly.
  • Not use any part of your email address as your username or password.
  • Choose a username and password that are different than your ATM PIN.
  • Select a username and password that are not easy for others to guess such as your phone number or Social Security number.

For Username

  • Include hyphens (-) or underscores (_) but no other special characters.
  • Not include any spaces.

For Password

  • Memorize your password and never write it down or reveal it to anyone, including bank employees.
  • Never let other people use your password. You take full responsibility (until you notify us) for all transactions made by any person to whom you give your password.
  • Use special characters (such as @, %, &, #).
