What are purchase cards and who uses them?
Often known as P-cards, they are Visa and MasterCard programs used by corporations and government entities as a tool for making low value purchases. Organizations provide purchase cards to individual employees, who can use the card to make purchases directly from merchants within predetermined spending limits, eliminating the need for requisitions and purchase orders.

LEVEL 1 – Supported by our countertop terminals, this follows the standard method of processing where the card is authorized at the point of sale like any other Visa and MasterCard card, and is authorized and associated with normal transaction data through clearing and settlement.

LEVEL 2 – Supported by our countertop terminals, this level can provide companies with accounting and summary tax information about their expenditures. Standards for level 2 participation vary by merchant sector.

LEVEL 3 – Usually used by eCommerce and MOTO merchants, this is the highest level of enhanced data capture performed by Visa and MasterCard merchants for purchase card transactions. This level allows a detailed accounting of goods and services purchased.
