Grant Guidelines
The Mabel Y. Hughes Charitable Trust supports charitable, educational, religious, and hospital institutions in the state of Colorado.
Requirements
- Applicants must qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Organizations are eligible to apply once per calendar year.
Average giving
Average grant size: $5,000 to $25,000
Average number of grants per year: 75
Average total giving per year: $575,000
Annual application period and deadlines
Applications are accepted year-round. Applications must be submitted by March 1, July 1 or November 1 to be reviewed at the grant meeting that occurs after each deadline.
Communications
Applicants will receive an automated email confirming their submission. Grant decisions are generally communicated within one to two months after deadline.
Required reports
Periodic progress reports and final reports may be required for funded projects.

The Mabel Y. Hughes Charitable Trust was established under the Last Will and Testament of Mabel Y. Hughes, a resident of Denver, Colorado. Ms. Hughes died on April 9, 1969. Her legacy of giving continues through grants to charitable organizations in the state of Colorado.
