This hand-held device gives you flexibility to take a card payment almost anywhere – with or without an internet connection – and print receipts. A virtual terminal is included, which allows you to enter card information into a web browser or send an e-invoice.

  • $15.00 if you choose to use the preloaded SIM card

Software fee:

  • Clover’s entry level Payments software for payment processing is included in the monthly service fee
  • Optional software upgrades are available through Clover for an additional monthly fee per device

Transaction fee:

  • Your cost per transaction doesn’t change based on the type of card your customer uses (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Your rate is based on:
    • Business type – whether you accept most of your payments from consumers or from other businesses
    • Whether your customer’s card is physically present or not
    • Total monthly dollar volume of the card transactions you process
  • As your sales grow and you meet the minimum for a lower rate in any given month, your rate will be automatically adjusted for the month.
  • No application fees, no monthly minimums, and no early termination fees.

Business to consumer (B2C) transaction fees

B2C merchants include restaurants, retailers and health practitioners, service industries, and merchants that accept most payments from consumers.

Software options

Clover devices come with Payments software for processing payments. You can upgrade your software to a plan with additional features and functions for an additional monthly fee per device. Healthcare businesses are only eligible for the Payments software. You will be asked to select a plan when you activate the device. Plans include:

  • Payments: Entry-level Clover software plan included as part of our monthly service fee 
  • Essentials: Includes the functionality of Payments, as well as basic inventory and order management. $9.95 monthly fee per device 
  • Register: Includes the functionality of Essentials, plus enhanced inventory and order management capabilities. $39.95 per month for first device, $9.95 for each additional device 
  • Counter Service Restaurant: Full-featured point-of-sale (POS) software designed for counter and quick service restaurants. $39.95 per month for first device, $9.95 for each additional device 
  • Table Service Restaurant: Full-featured POS software tailored for table service restaurants. $69.95 per month for first device, $9.95 for each additional device

Offer details: Offer valid only for new Wells Fargo Merchant Services (WFMS) small business accounts opened April 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021. Limit one offer per merchant location. Maximum reimbursable amount is $75 total on Covered Fees that are reimbursable. Covered Fees paid by the merchant will be reimbursed if the amount was incurred during the first four billing cycles after account open date. “Covered Fees” are limited to equipment purchases or rental fees, WFMS recurring monthly fees, wireless fees, setup fees, and processing fees and expressly exclude all third-party fees (including software or other fees), WFMS non-compliance fees (including ACH reject, chargeback and non-validation PCI compliance) and any other fees or fines not listed. Any reimbursed amount will appear as a credit on your Merchant Services statement on the following month’s statement after the fees are billed. You are responsible for any shipping and handling fees and any applicable taxes. If you submit an application online and you want to purchase more than one piece of equipment when you open your account, or if you want to purchase equipment not offered through the online application, please call us at 1-855-274-3030 or contact your Merchant Services specialist to complete your application. Please contact us if you have any questions. If the total Covered Fees are less than $75, the remaining amount is forfeited. WFMS account must be in good standing at the time the offer is applied. Cannot be combined with any other WFMS offer. Offer subject to change at any time.

Per online or keyed-in transaction

When customers are on the phone or on your website, a transaction is completed by keying in the card number in the device or online through an ecommerce gateway.

Per tap, dip, swipe transaction

When customers are at your location, they pay by swiping a card, dipping/inserting a chip card, or tapping/waving a contactless card or phone above the device. Contactless and mobile wallet payments include Apple Pay®.

Total monthly processing

Monthly processing volume is the total dollar amount of credit/debit card transactions you process in all of your merchant locations in a month including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and PIN debit.

Monthly service fee includes:

Risk and fraud monitoring, reporting and analytics, 24/7 support, dispute management, and Clover’s entry level Payments software that allows you to take payments through a web browser, mobile app, or your Clover device. Monthly fees are assessed per MID (merchant ID). If you choose to add other equipment or options, additional fees may apply.
