As a small business owner, it’s crucial to understand your expenses so you can manage your bottom line. We’re making it easier for you to estimate what your debit and credit card processing costs could be in a typical month.

No application fees, no monthly minimums, and no early termination or cancellation fees. Terms and conditions apply, so be sure to read your contract for full details.

How to estimate your monthly merchant services costs

What the monthly service fee covers:

  • Reporting and analytics
  • 24/7 support
  • Advanced risk and fraud monitoring
  • Dispute management
  • Payment gateway access (if you choose e-commerce payment processing)

⁠Part 2: Per-transaction rate

Your cost per transaction won’t change based on the type of card your customer uses. The rate you’ll pay is based on:

  • Business type: whether you accept most of your payments from consumers or from other businesses
  • Whether your customer’s card is physically present or not
  • Total monthly sales volume of the card transactions you process

As your sales grow and you meet the minimum for a lower rate in any given month, your rate will be automatically adjusted for the month.

Business to consumer (B2C) transaction fees

B2C merchants include restaurants, retailers, health practitioners, and any businesses that accept most payment methods from consumers.

Business to business (B2B) transaction fees

B2B merchants include distributors, medical/dental suppliers, industrial suppliers, and any businesses that accept most payments methods from other businesses.

Part ⁠3: Point-of-sale device costs (if applicable)

We offer point-of-sale terminals and portable devices that allow you to accept payments onsite, online, or on the go.

Availability of certain software plans, apps, wireless access or functionality may vary based on your selected equipment or industry. These options can have associated fees which will impact your typical monthly expenses.

Custom pricing

Custom pricing (Interchange Plus) is also available for select businesses. Some merchants may prefer Interchange Plus pricing, which includes processing rates based on what the card payment networks’ (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) charge per transaction. Rates can vary from transaction to transaction.

Per online or keyed-in transaction

When customers are on the phone or on your website, a transaction is completed by keying in the card number in the device or online through an e-commerce gateway.

Per tap, dip, swipe transaction

When customers are at your location, they pay by swiping a card, dipping/inserting a chip card, or tapping/waving a contactless card or phone above the device. Contactless and mobile wallet payments include Apple Pay®.

Total monthly processing

Monthly processing volume is the total dollar amount of credit/debit card transactions you process in all of your merchant locations in a month including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and PIN debit.
