Mission

The Woodworth Family Foundation enriches the community, in which we work and live, by awarding grants to organizations that promote education, healthcare, youth programs, and human services in Tacoma and Pierce County.

Application deadlines

Letters of inquiry are accepted on a rolling basis, and proposals are by invitation only. Proposal submission deadlines will be determined by the Board of Directors on an individual basis.

The Woodworth Family Foundation supports non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations in Tacoma and Pierce County whose projects emphasize the following:

Education

Programs or initiatives that build the mind, character, or physical ability of students. Focus: scholarships, capital projects, universities, private primary and secondary schools

Youth Services

Programs that engage young people in intensive and organized activities that contribute to their growth and benefit the local community. Focus: sports, skill building, at risk youth

Health Care

Institutions and programs that preserve health or treat, prevent, and manage illness. Focus: hospital funds, hospital capital projects, treatment services, prevention programs

Human Services

Programs or facilities that strive to meet the basic needs of people in our community. Focus: food banks, homeless services and shelters, crisis intervention

About the Foundation

Since 1921, the Woodworth family has been working and living in the Tacoma and Pierce County community. We believe in contributing to the region that has been so important to our family’s success in business and life.
