Wells Fargo Consumer and Business Account Fees

This list describes the services you may use along with the associated fees. Fees may vary, as some locations and accounts offer fee waivers and reimbursements for some services. For a complete list of services, fees, fee waivers, and reimbursements that are available with your account, please consult the applicable Consumer Account Fee and Information Schedule and corresponding Addenda or the Business Account Fee and Information Schedule and corresponding Addenda. If you have questions or prefer us to mail you a copy of the Fee and Information Schedule, please contact your Banker or call us at one of the numbers listed below.

ATM Access (Wells Fargo)

Description

Get cash, make deposits, transfer funds, or obtain an ATM statement at a Wells Fargo ATM.

ATM Balance Inquiry (Non-Wells Fargo - U.S. and International)

Description

Get your account balance at a non-Wells Fargo ATM.

ATM Funds Transfer (Non-Wells Fargo - U.S. and International)

Description

Transfer available funds between your primary linked checking and savings accounts at non-Wells Fargo ATMs where available.

ATM Cash Withdrawal (Non-Wells Fargo - International)

Description

Cash withdrawal transactions at ATMs outside the U.S.

Bill Pay (Business and Consumer)

Description

Pay your bills and invoices online from your business or personal accounts.

Wells Fargo Fee

None.

Additional Information

There's no monthly service fee to use Bill Pay. Charges may apply, however, for Wells Fargo Same Day Payments ServiceSM. Please refer to our fees page for fees associated with our online services. Additional fees may apply for certain funding accounts used in Bill Pay. Account fees (e.g. monthly service, overdraft) may also apply to your account(s) that you make Bill Pay payments from. Please refer to the Account Agreement, including the Fee and Information Schedule, applicable to your account(s).

Cash Deposit Processing Fee (Business accounts only)

Description

Some business checking and savings accounts include a specified amount of cash deposits processed monthly without a fee. Once cash deposits processed exceeds this amount, a cash deposit processing fee will apply.

Fee

The amount of cash deposits processed included with the account without a fee varies by account type.

Cashed/Deposited Item Returned Unpaid

Description

If you cash or deposit an item into your account, and it is returned unpaid to the Bank for any reason, your account is charged a fee.

$12 per item

Cashier's Checks

Description

Order a cashier’s check online or in-person at any Wells Fargo banking location.

Wells Fargo Fee

$10 each.

Additional Information

For online orders of cashier’s checks to be delivered to an address in the U.S., there will be an $8 delivery charge in addition to the $10 Wells Fargo fee. Please allow up to 3 business days for delivery to Alaska and Hawaii. Delivery of checks is limited to addresses within the United States. We do not deliver to P.O. Boxes.

Debit Card International Purchase Transactions

Description

A fee will be charged for each debit card purchase made in a foreign currency that is converted to a U.S. dollar amount by a network.

Fee

3% of transaction amount

Debit Card Over-The-Counter Cash Disbursement

Description

Get cash from a teller at a non-Wells Fargo Bank location.

Fee

  • U.S./U.S. Territories - $3 per teller transaction
  • International - 3% of transaction amount

Additional Information

You may be charged fees by other third parties for use of your debit card or ATM card, such as stores and merchants for purchase transactions, and other banks and financial institutions for debit card over-the-counter cash disbursements at their branches.

Money Order

Description

A payment instrument ordering the bank to pay a specific sum of money.

Fee

$5 per money order.

Additional Information

Money orders up to $1,000 each may be purchased at any Wells Fargo banking location.

Overdraft Fees

Description

We may assess an overdraft fee for any item we pay into overdraft.

Debit Card Overdraft Service: No overdraft fee will be assessed on ATM and everyday (one-time) debit card transactions unless your account is enrolled in Debit Card Overdraft Service. If your account is not enrolled in Debit Card Overdraft Service and there is not enough money in your checking account or accounts linked for Overdraft Protection, your ATM and everyday (one-time) debit card transactions will be declined, and there are no fees for declined transactions. Debit Card Overdraft Service is automatically added to eligible Business Accounts at account opening. You can add or remove the service at any time. Debit Card Overdraft Service is not available for certain accounts, such as Wells Fargo Clear Access BankingSM accounts, Teen CheckingSM accounts, IOLTA/RETA accounts, accounts for government entities, or savings accounts.

Fee

  • $35 per item
  • $15 per item for Wells Fargo Teen CheckingSM
  • We limit the number of overdraft fees assessed per business day to no more than three for Consumer accounts (two for Wells Fargo Teen Checking). We limit the number of overdraft fees and returned item (Non-sufficient funds/NSF) fees per business day to eight for Business accounts.
  • There are no overdraft fees for Clear Access Banking accounts. Note: If you convert to a Clear Access Banking account from an account that has checks and overdraft services available, any fees resulting from account activity made or authorized prior to conversion may post to the account after conversion. In this event, any such fees will also be reflected in account activity summaries located within online banking and your account statement.

Additional Information

  • No overdraft fees will be assessed on items of $5 or less.
  • No overdraft fees will be assessed if both your ending daily account balance and available balance are overdrawn by $5 or less after we have processed all of your transactions.

Overdraft Protection Transfer/Advance Fees (Business accounts only)

Description

Transfer or advance available funds from your eligible account(s) linked for Overdraft Protection.

Fee

Transfers from eligible Business savings account:

  • $12.50 per transfer

Advances from eligible Business credit account:

  • See your credit agreement

Additional Information

  • Advances from credit accounts accrue interest from the date of each advance. Advances from credit cards accrue interest at the cash advance rate.
  • A single Overdraft Protection transfer or advance fee will be assessed any day a transfer/advance is made regardless of the number of transactions covered or whether money is transferred/advanced from multiple accounts. Also, we will not charge a fee unless the transfer/advance covered at least one pending item, or helped you avoid at least one overdraft or returned item.

Returned Item/Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) Fees (Business accounts only)


Description

We may assess a returned item fee for any item returned unpaid.

Fee

  • $35 per item
  • We limit the number of overdraft and returned item (Non-Sufficient Funds/NSF) fees assessed per business day to eight for Business accounts.

Additional Information 

  • No returned item fees will be assessed on items of $5 or less.

Statements (Online)

Description

View your account statements online, and stop delivery of your statements by U.S. Mail.

Wells Fargo Fee

None.

Additional Information

Online Statements require Adobe® Acrobat® PDF reader. The length of time Online Statements are available to view and download varies depending on the product: up to 12 months for auto loans and student loans; up to 2 years for credit cards, home equity lines of credit, and personal loans and lines of credit; and up to 7 years for deposit accounts, home mortgage accounts, and trust and managed investment accounts. The length of time the specific product statements are available online can be found in Wells Fargo Online® in Statements & Documents. Availability may be affected by your mobile carrier’s coverage area. Your mobile carrier’s message and data rates may apply.

Stop Payment

Description

Request a stop payment online or by phone for a paper item (check) or pre-authorized ACH (Automated Clearing House) item. You will need to provide the following:

Paper item – payee name, account number, check number or range of check numbers, check date and check amount.

ACH item - account number, payee name, effective date, and amount of item.

Wells Fargo Fee

$31 each item.

Additional Information

There is no fee for placing stop payments on lost or stolen blank checks. Fees may vary based on the type of account you have, please refer to your Consumer or Business Fee and Information Schedule, as applicable.

Transactions Fee (checking) / Deposited Items Fee (savings) (Business accounts only)

Description

Some business checking and savings accounts include a specified number of transactions and deposited items without a fee. Once transactions and deposited items exceed this number, a transactions fee or deposited items fee applies.

For all accounts other than analyzed accounts, the definition of Transactions refers to all checks deposited and all withdrawals or debits posted to your account, including paper and electronic, except debit card purchases and debit card payments.

For analyzed accounts, the definition of Transactions refers to withdrawals or debits posted to your account and checks deposited electronically. Deposits will incur a separate fee. Deposits are processed by a teller, ATM, or mailed to the Bank. Wells Fargo Business Debit or ATM card purchases and payments are not assessed a transaction fee by Wells Fargo and won’t be counted as part of the transaction limit on Optimize Business Checking.

Fee

For some business accounts fees are $0.50 for each transaction/item over the number of transactions included with the account without a fee.  The number of transactions included with the account without a fee varies by account type.

Wire Transfer — Incoming Domestic

Description

A wire transfer sent to a Wells Fargo account from a financial institution in the United States.

Wire Transfer — Outgoing Domestic

Description

A wire transfer sent from a Wells Fargo account to a recipient account in the United States.
