We've Updated Our Online Wire Transfers Terms and Conditions

Why are you getting this notice?

To let you know that we've revised the Wells Fargo Online Wire Transfers Service Addendum ("Addendum") with updated terms and conditions, and to remove outdated information. Please review the updated Wire Addendum, with key changes summarized below.

Do you need to do anything?

No, you don’t need to take any action. This notice is simply to let you know that certain terms and conditions in the Addendum have been updated. Your continued use or access of the Wells Fargo Online Wire Transfer Service (the "Service") is your acceptance of these updated terms and conditions.

Summary of Key Changes to the Addendum

  • Updated Section 4 Responsibility of Wells Fargo, to clarify that your Order will also be governed by the rules and documents for the applicable funds transfer system, and that in the event of a conflict between those operating rules and the Addendum, the Addendum will govern.
  • Updated Section 6 Liability, to clarify Wells Fargo's liability with respect to your Orders.
  • Updated Section 7 Refund, to clarify that any charges assessed by the Beneficiary or intermediary bank related to a return will be deducted from any refund.
  • Updated Section 10 Cancellation and Amendment, to clarify that with the exception of the 30 minute cancellation window for Outgoing Consumer International wires, an Order is final and cannot be canceled or changed by you.
  • Updated Section 12 Fees and Taxes, to clarify that additional fees can be charged to the funding account or deducted from the transfer amount, as applicable.
  • Updated Section 13 Currency, to clarify that prior to initiating a wire, you should confirm that your beneficiary can receive the currency you select in your Order. Otherwise, your Order may be rejected or additional fees and currency conversion charges may apply, if the beneficiary's account is in a different currency.
  • Updated Section 15.2 Disclosures, to add language explaining that if you choose to send your Order in Foreign Currency, the amount to be transferred, a description of third party fees, and the amount that will be received by the Beneficiary will be disclosed in the Foreign Currency. Also, you will receive a receipt once you complete your transaction that includes certain information.
  • Updated Section 15.5 Error Resolution:
    • To clarify that you may notify Wells Fargo of an error by calling the Wire Transfer Services Team at 1-855-339-6655 or by contacting your banker.
    • To clarify and provide further information on your error resolution and cancellation rights.

When do these changes go into effect?

The changes are effective on August 20, 2021. We hope you continue to enjoy the Service, however if you don’t agree with the changes to the Addendum, you can simply stop using the Service and no additional action is required.
