Foster care is the system in which a minor who has been made a ward of the state is placed in an institution, group home, or private home of a state-certified caregiver referred to as a "foster parent." A foster care contract spells out the obligations in this relationship, including financial stipends provided to the foster parent by the government. To verify such income, you may be asked to provide a letter from the agency administering the program and provide proof of a 2-year work history with a prior or current agency.
