Court Order

A directive by a judge or a court that requires someone to do — or not do — something.

You may need to provide a court order to verify a legal ruling that can affect a loan application, such as:

  • Proving that debt payments have been assigned to another person
  • Validating the transfer of property ownership
  • Removal or buyout of a co-applicant from a property title
  • Verifying income from child support, alimony, or separate maintenance payments, if this income is used to qualify for a loan
  • Demonstrating that certain debts were included in a bankruptcy

Tips for a smoother application process

  • Make sure documents are clear and legible.
  • Don't alter any pages (no strikethroughs, cross-outs, etc.).
  • Send all pages, even the blank ones.
