How does text banking work?

Once you’re signed up, you can text us to quickly get account information anytime, anywhere without signing on. Just send one of our commands to 93557 (WELLS) to automatically receive account information, ATM locations, and more in seconds.

For example: Need to check your balance while waiting in line to make a purchase? Text BAL ALL to 93557 and we'll automatically reply with your account balance in seconds.

What if I don’t use Wells Fargo Online®?

You can still use text banking. All you need is your social security number and your ATM or account number.

What number should I send texts to?

Text commands to us at 93557 (WELLS). Please add this number to your mobile contact list for easy access.

How is text banking secure?

Text banking is secure because:

  • You view accounts by nicknames you set, not account number
  • No detailed personal information sent
  • Text banking won’t send unsolicited text messages
  • It’s covered by our Online Security Guarantee

What are the text banking commands?

  • ACT: View account activity on your primary account. To view account activity of another account, include the account nickname. Example: ACT VISA
  • BAL: Receive the balance of your primary account. To receive the balance of another account, include the account nickname. Example: BAL SAV
  • BAL ALL: Receive the balance of all your enrolled accounts
  • COM: Receive a list of all text banking commands
  • DUE: View information for your credit card account(s)
  • TRA: Transfer funds between your Wells Fargo Checking and Savings accounts and to your Wells Fargo Credit card
  • HELP: Get Wells Fargo contact information
  • STOP TEXT: Disable text banking

Will text banking work on my phone?

Text banking will work as long as your carrier supports text messaging. Check with your carrier for details about text messaging charges.

Are text commands case-sensitive?

No, commands can be sent in lowercase (bal) or all capital letters (BAL).

What should I do if I get a new phone or phone number?

If you have a new mobile number, visit mobile preferences to update your contact information.

Will text banking work on my pre-paid service plan?

At this time, the following pre-paid carriers do not support text banking:

  • Some Verizon Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) (e.g. MIGO)
  • TRACFONE®

FastLook

What is FastLook?

FastLook allows you to view certain account information at a glance without signing into the Wells Fargo Mobile app on supported Apple® and Android phone devices. You can check balances quickly, with one swipe.

With FastLook, you can select up to five eligible accounts that will have their balances displayed when you use this feature, and you can also view reminders of Bill Payments that are due.

Once you’ve set your FastLook preferences, you can view these balances or reminders easily, without signing in to the app.

How do I enable FastLook on my device?

To enable FastLook:

  • When logged into the Wells Fargo Mobile app, select the Menu icon.
  • Under Settings, select FastLook.
  • Select the accounts for which you would like to see the balance information. Select Bill Payment reminders if you would like to see Bill Pay payments that are due.
  • Select Save.

FastLook is available only on the Wells Fargo Mobile app. If you are using the mobile browser, this feature will not be available.

How do I access FastLook once it is enabled?

To access FastLook:

  • Access FastLook simply by selecting the Wells Fargo Mobile app icon on your device.
  • On the Wells Fargo Mobile App home page, swipe or select the pull down icon.
  • Your FastLook content will display according to your settings.

FastLook is available only on the Wells Fargo Mobile app. If you are using the mobile browser, this feature will not be available.

What information will display on the FastLook screen?

Based on your FastLook settings, the following information will be displayed:

  • Available balances for your selected Wells Fargo deposit accounts
  • Current balances for your selected Wells Fargo credit card accounts
  • Reminders for Bill Pay payments that are due

Can I complete any transactions within FastLook?

No. You must sign onto the Wells Fargo Mobile app or mobile browser to complete any transactions.

Is FastLook secure since I don’t have to sign on to view it?

We do not store your password. We do not display your full account numbers. 128–bit encryption masks sensitive information. Wells Fargo Mobile is covered by our Online Security Guarantee. Visit Online Security Guarantee to learn more.

Will the information displayed within Fastlook be visible to anyone with whom I might share my device?

When FastLook is enabled, anyone who has access to the Wells Fargo Mobile app on your device could see the account information you have chosen to display in Fastlook.

As we recommend that you never share personal account information with anyone, we also recommend that you disable FastLook prior to sharing your device.

How do I disable FastLook on my device?

There are two ways to disable FastLook.

  • Select the Disable option displayed at the bottom of all FastLook screens.

Complete the following steps:

  • When signed into the Wells Fargo Mobile app, select the Menu icon.
  • Under Settings, select FastLook.
  • Uncheck all of the FastLook options you’ve previously selected.
  • Select Save.
