To sign up for Online Statements, you need to have a Wells Fargo Online® or a Wells Fargo Business Online® account. Simply fill out this short enrollment form to set up a username and password to access your personal and business accounts online.

Wells Fargo Online comes with the ability to receive and view statements for most of your accounts online.

If you find that you are still receiving paper statements:

  1. Go to Change Delivery Preferences and select Online Only for the eligible account.
  2. Click Submit.

To view your statements online, go to the Account Activity page and select the Statements and Documents tab.

What if I want to receive paper statements for my eligible accounts?

To resume receiving your paper statements in the mail:

  1. Go to Change Delivery Preferences and select U.S. Mail or Online & U.S. Mail for the eligible account.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. Once you make your request, your next statement may be delivered online, but all subsequent months will be delivered by mail as paper statements.

Will my Online Statement look the same as my regular printed statement?

Yes, your online statement is just the same as your paper statement and is considered an official document. It contains all the information that is included on your paper statements. For legal purposes, a printed version of an online statement is the same as a paper statement mailed via U.S. Mail.

Are Online Statements secure?

Yes, with Wells Fargo Online or Wells Fargo Business Online, your Online Statements and all your personal and financial information are protected behind multiple layers of security.

How much does it cost to receive statements online?

It’s free to receive and view statements online.

What are the benefits of switching to Online Statements?

With Online Statements you can:

  • Quickly and easily access past statements online
  • Lessen the risk of fraud and identity theft that comes with paper statements
  • Reduce clutter and conserve trees by printing only what's needed
  • Receive email notifications as soon as your statements are ready

What is the difference between my Account Activity and an Online Statement?

Both your Account Activity screen and your Online Statements show your transaction history and are free of charge. Here are the key differences:

  • The Account Activity screen shows all of your recent and pending transactions for the past 60-90 days.
  • Online Statements are electronic versions of the monthly paper statements that you receive by mail. They include transactions from a set period of time (a statement cycle) and do not include any pending transactions.

For example: Your credit card statement shows the transactions you made before the statement closing date and the current amount owed. Your credit card Account Activity screen shows the past 60 days of activity, including pending transactions and transactions that occurred after the statement closing date.

The length of online statement storage varies depending on the product: For credit cards, student loans, loans and lines of credit (including home equity and home mortgages) it’s 2 years; and for deposit accounts and private client accounts it’s 7 years. How will I know when a new Online Statement for my eligible account(s) is available for viewing?

We'll automatically send you an email at the close of each statement cycle to let you know that your current statement is ready. You must maintain a valid email address to receive your notification. We will also send a notification to your Wells Fargo secure Inbox.

If you are not receiving email notifications, there are a few things you should check:

  • Sign on and select the Account Services tab.
  • Select Change Delivery Preferences.
  • Scroll down to the Confirm Email Address section and make sure your email address is current and correct. Then check to see if your email account is filing notifications in your spam or bulk folders. If it is, add Wells Fargo to your address book to ensure that notifications go to your regular inbox.

Even if you have not received an email notification from us, you can always sign on and view your statements online.

What should I do if my account is not listed on the Change Delivery Preferences page?

If your eligible account is not listed on your Change Delivery Preferences page, you will need to link it to your Wells Fargo Online or Wells Fargo Business Online account. To link your account, simply:

  • Sign on and select the Account Services tab.
  • Go to the Account Information section and select Add Accounts.
  • If your account isn’t listed, please call us at 1-800-956-4442.

If my account is set up for Online Only Statements will I still receive my paper statements?

For eligible accounts (most checking and savings, trust, mortgage, personal lines and loans, student loans and credit card accounts), we discontinue your paper statements when Online Only is selected as a delivery preference. You can view, save, and print your Online Statements at anytime, and they are legally the same as the paper version we mail to you.

If you wish to receive paper, you can change your delivery preference on the Delivery Preferences page.

Will I receive images of my checks with Online Statements?

You can always access images of your checks for the past 18 months online on your Account Activity page. However when you select Online Only as your statement delivery method, we will stop sending you paper check image statements.

To change your statement delivery preference and resume delivery of paper statements with check images, simply call the number referenced on your statement.
