How do I fund my WellsTrade account?

Several options exist to fund your new WellsTrade account. A minimum initial deposit of $1,000 (cash, account transfer, or securities) is requested.

  • Transfer from your Bank Account. You may transfer funds to your WellsTrade account from either a Wells Fargo (e.g. PMA® Package) or Non-Wells Fargo bank account and your initial funding can be sent electronically to fund your account. In order to transfer from a Non-Wells Fargo bank account you will need to provide a copy of a voided check and provide authorization for the ACH debit entry. The voided check is used to capture the correct bank account and routing numbers for the non-Wells Fargo account.

You may request the transfer at account opening whether you open your account online or with an investment professional over the phone.

You may also initiate the transfer in your secure online session or you can complete, sign and mail (or fax) us an ACH Authorization Agreement form. In order to transfer from a Non-Wells Fargo bank account you will need to provide a copy of a voided check. The voided check is used to capture the correct bank account and routing numbers for the non-Wells Fargo account.
  • Transfer from an existing Brokerage Account at another firm. In order to request another institution to send your account directly to us, we need to send them a completed Client Account Transfer Form.

Please print and complete the Client Account Transfer Form (PDF)*, then send it to Wells Fargo Advisors to initiate your transfer request. Along with the Client Account Transfer Form, we need a complete copy of your most recent statement from the other brokerage firm dated within the last 90 days.

Note: Step-by-step instructions are included on the Client Account Transfer Form, so be sure to follow these closely as an incomplete form may cause a delay in processing.
  • Check. You may fund your account through a check payable to Wells Fargo Advisors.  Please include the check along with your forms sent in your Welcome Kit that require your signature. Please include your account # on your check.  Checks can also be mailed to: Wells Fargo Advisors, MAC HOOO6-085, 1North Jefferson Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103
