When should I expect to receive my permanent card?
Your permanent card will arrive in the mail 5 to 7 calendar days after you request a replacement permanent card. Once you receive your permanent card in the mail, please activate it. You can start using it with your existing Personal Identification Number (PIN).
If you do not receive your permanent card within the timeframe above, please call us at 1-800-869-3557. Bankers are available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What is a chip card?
It is a card that has a chip on the front as well as the traditional magnetic stripe on the back. The chip provides added security when used at a chip-enabled terminal or ATM and greater global acceptance. Many countries worldwide have adopted chip technology, and it will become the standard for card payments in the U.S. If a merchant or ATM has not yet adopted chip technology, your transaction will be processed using the magnetic stripe as it is today.

How can I get a customized Cash Card?
Simply sign on and select Access Card Design Studio.
Please note : To use the Card Design Studio ® service, your browser must be enabled to play Flash files. If you haven’t installed the Flash Player yet, you will be prompted to install it when you first attempt to customize the design of your card.
Wells Fargo reserves the right to accept or reject any artwork, images or logos. For example, any third-party trademarks, copyrighted materials, or name, image and likeness of any public figures, will not be approved.
How do I withdraw cash using my Cash Card?
You can withdraw cash at Wells Fargo ATMs or banking locations, or at any ATM worldwide that displays Visa® or Plus® logos. Please note that an ATM usage fee will apply when you use a non-Wells Fargo ATM. Some merchants may also allow you to select cash back when you make a purchase using your Wells Fargo Cash Card.
Here is how you use your Cash Card to make a withdrawal:
- Insert your card and follow the steps on the screen.
- Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
- Select the amount of cash you want to withdraw.
- Take your cash, card, and receipt.
Merchant Terminals/PIN Pad Purchases with Cash Back
- Insert or swipe your card at the PIN pad terminal.
- Follow the prompts on the terminal screen to request cash back and enter your PIN.
How do I add funds to my Cash Card?
You or anyone authorized to contribute funds to your Cash Card account can add funds by simply:
- Setting up a direct deposit with your employer to deposit your paycheck directly into your account. For more details, read How to Set Up Direct Deposit.
- Transferring funds from another Wells Fargo account online or over the telephone.
Please note: Customers using the Youth Cash Card must be at least 13 years old to access Wells Fargo Online®.
- Depositing cash at any Wells Fargo branch.
As a parent or guardian, how do I set a daily purchase limit or ATM withdrawal limit for my pre-teen or teen’s Cash Card?
Call us at 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557) or visit a Wells Fargo branch near you to request to change the Cash Card’s purchase or ATM withdrawal limit.
Are there any fees associated with depositing or withdrawing funds from my Cash Card?
Wells Fargo does not charge a fee for purchases made in the U.S., accessing cash at Wells Fargo ATMs, or depositing cash into your account.
Monthly Service Fees
There is no monthly service fee for the Youth Cash Card.
Other fees – such as non-Wells Fargo ATM withdrawal fees or international transaction purchase fees – are outlined in the Consumer Account Fee & Information Schedule you received when you opened your account.

What are the daily limits on my Cash Card?
Your Cash Card comes with a daily limit on the dollar amount of purchases you can make with your card. And you have a daily ATM/cash withdrawal limit. Your daily purchase and cash withdrawal limits are printed on the materials that come with your card.

Can I spend more than I have on my Cash Card?
Most purchases will be declined if the transaction amount is greater than the card’s available balance or daily purchase limit. Please note that your available balance may not fully reflect the full amount of your purchase until it is submitted by the merchant for payment. For example, when paying at a gas station pump or restaurant (where you might attempt to add a tip after the amount of your bill has been approved separately), the final purchase amount may be more than your available balance, which may result in an overdraft.
How can I track my spending?
To keep track of your Cash Card spending, make sure to save your receipts, record all transactions, and review your monthly statements.
You can also visit any Wells Fargo ATM to check your available balance, or call us at 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557) to access your account information – you’ll need your 10-digit account number linked to your Cash Card when you call.

What if my Cash Card is lost or stolen?
Report lost or stolen cards immediately to Wells Fargo by going online, using your Wells Fargo Mobile® app or by calling 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557). Your card comes with the built-in security feature of Zero Liability protection at no extra cost, so you’re not liable for unauthorized transactions, as long as you report them promptly. Please see your applicable Wells Fargo account agreement for information on liability for unauthorized transactions.
What if I don’t have enough money on my card to make a purchase?
To purchase an item for more than the available balance or daily purchase limit on your Cash Card, ask the merchant if you can make a partial payment with your card and pay the remainder with cash or another card.
What if I forget my PIN?
If you forget your Personal Identification Number (PIN) or would like to select a new one, please visit your nearest Wells Fargo branch.
How do I turn my card on or off?
If you have misplaced your card and need time to find it, you can temporarily turn your card off to help prevent unauthorized card transactions. When you find it, you can easily turn your card back on. Sign on to Wells Fargo Online or log into your Wells Fargo Mobile® app to access Turn Card On or Off. You can also call us at 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557) for personal debit or prepaid cards.
