Jumpstarting My Retirement Planning
I opened an IRA years ago when I had my own business, but I didn't make a lot of contributions. Figuring we’d use my potential Social Security payments and my husband's retirement account, I thought we'd be comfortable in retirement. But you never know. So now I'm maxing out what I put into my IRA.
And that money has the opportunity to grow. That's the cool thing I've noticed. I can already see the impact the tax-deferral will have in the future. You have to create your own retirement. The best way to do that in my mind is to make a plan and stick with it.
