ONE. Establish a relationship with a bank. If you don’t already have one, start a checking or savings account. You’ll have a much easier time getting credit if the bank already knows who you are and how you manage your accounts.
TWO. Have an income. You need to be able to show that you can make your monthly payments. Usually this is by having a job or other income.
THREE. Apply for credit. There are a variety of credit products that can help you build credit. Most lenders have special products designed for those who are new to credit, like student cards, or secured cards. Talk to your banker for more information.
