Accommodations

Wells Fargo will cover your hotel stay (room and tax) at The Cloister at Sea Island for the evenings of Wednesday, October 4 and Thursday, October 5. You are responsible for incidental charges, as well as payment of hotel accommodations before or after the program dates. If you would like to extend your stay, please contact Aubrey Carroll, as we have negotiated a special rate for certain days.

Attire

Business casual attire is appropriate for the entire event, including both dinners.

Climate

The weather in Sea Island in October ranges from a high of approximately 81 degrees Fahrenheit during the day to a low of 66 in the evening. We recommend bringing a sweater or jacket for air-conditioned rooms and cool evenings.

Thursday, October 5

Following the business session and lunch on Thursday, we invite you and your guests to participate in one of the following optional activities sponsored by Wells Fargo. Please note that space is limited for each activity and contingent upon availability.

Golf 

Enjoy a round of golf on the championship Seaside Course, one of Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Courses in the United States,” and home of the PGA Tour’s McGladrey Classic. This ocean-side course places a premium on careful shot selection, recovery, and putting. You may rent golf clubs when you register.

Cooking school and Cloister Belle river cruise

Join us in a private cooking lesson and demonstration with one of Sea Island’s talented chefs, learning how to create food that is served in its top-rated restaurants. In addition, enjoy a scenic, leisurely cruise along the local island waterways on the 1957 Cloister Belle, a 71-foot teak and mahogany yacht.

Spa

Enjoy a 60-minute classic massage, 60-minute facial, or a manicure/pedicure at The Spa at Sea Island. Appointments will be scheduled for you, based on your registration information and availability. You may of course schedule additional spa treatments or upgrade your treatment at your own expense.

Fishing 

Enjoy an afternoon of some of the best fishing on the East Coast. 

Friday, October 6

We invite you and your guest to enjoy one of the optional activities listed below. Please select this activity when completing the registration process. Space is limited for each activity and contingent upon availability.

Golf

Play a round of golf on the Retreat Course. Sea Island Touring Professional Davis Love III and his brother Mark redesigned Retreat in 2001. Surrounded by towering Georgia longleaf pines, sleepy native oaks, and dramatic greens, players of all levels will enjoy this course. You may rent golf clubs when you register.

Spa

Enjoy a 60-minute classic massage, 60-minute facial, or a manicure/pedicure at The Spa at Sea Island. Appointments will be scheduled for you, based on your registration information and availability. You may of course schedule additional spa treatments or upgrade your treatment at your own expense.

Kayaking 

Explore the vast tidal grasslands behind the barrier islands by sea kayak with a naturalist.

Barrier island bike cruise

A naturalist will take you on a guided tour where you can enjoy marsh and beach view while learning about native flora and fauna, and Sea Island’s history as a barrier island along Georgia’s coastline.

Air travel

You are responsible for your own air transportation, if applicable. Suggested airports are Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), which is approximately a one hour and 20-minute drive; Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), which is approximately a one hour and 30-minute drive; Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BQK), which is approximately a 30-minute drive; and McKinnon St. Simmons Island Private Airport, which is only minutes from The Cloister.

Car service

John Calipari

Men's basketball coach, University of Kentucky

A “players-first” coach with a penchant for helping people reach their dreams, John Calipari, a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, has guided six teams to the Final Four, led one to a national championship and helped 39 players earn selection in the NBA Draft during his 24-year college coaching career.

Calipari’s foundation, The Calipari Foundation, has raised millions of dollars to help the lives of those in need in the Commonwealth and across the country, and in 2010, he used a telethon to raise more than $1 million for victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. He followed that up with another telethon in 2012 that raised $1 million for victims of Superstorm Sandy.
