Some Wells Fargo branches have been closed, and others are operating on reduced hours due to government restrictions related to COVID-19. Individuals may encounter longer lines at branches that are open, especially during week-end or month-end days when they receive their payroll checks.

You may want to advise your employees who you pay by check to consult the Wells Fargo ATM and Banking Locations tool before visiting a branch to make sure it’s open for their specific needs or to find alternate branch locations. 

You can also encourage your employees to use electronic banking or check cashing options so they don’t need to go into Wells Fargo branches. Options include: 

  • Signing up for direct deposit if you offer this payroll option, so employees’ paychecks are electronically deposited into their accounts at their financial institutions.
  • Using mobile check-image deposit apps offered by most financial institutions. Wells Fargo offers the Wells Fargo Mobile® app to deposit checks electronically using smart phones. Transaction limits apply.
  • Using ATMs to deposit checks and receive cash back instead of waiting in teller lines.
