Wells Fargo donates $100,000 for COVID-19 Relief Efforts across Canada

Foundation supports relief efforts in partnership with United Way Worldwide

TORONTO – July 21, 2020 – Wells Fargo announced it has donated $140,000 CAD ($100,000 USD) in support of COVID-19 relief efforts to four charitable organizations across Canada.

The donations are part of Wells Fargo’s commitment to distributing $175 million in donations to help address food, shelter, small business and housing stability, as well as to provide help to public health organizations around the world.

The recipients of the grants are: 

  • Anxiety Canada, $10,000
  • Food Banks Canada, $40,000
  • United Way Canada, $40,000
  • TELUS Friendly Futures Foundation, $10,000

"We are working rapidly to mobilize for our customers, employees and the nonprofit community as we all face new and uncertain financial and personal situations. Nonprofits provide critical social services as well as employment in the community, yet we know many are already struggling to keep their doors open. We want to help the nonprofit community and those most vulnerable in our communities in this challenging moment," said Richard Valade, Regional President, Canada, and Latin America. 

Wells Fargo employs more than 700 employees across Canada who serve commercial customers in the Canadian cities of Calgary, Mississauga, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Quebec City.
