Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Relationship Manager
With a national platform and partnership with other lines of business, Relationship Managers are able to deliver a full suite of Wells Fargo offerings to customers ncluding credit, treasury management, insurance and risk management, investment banking, and capital markets products and expertise. Opportunities are available nationwide based on candidate preference and business need, with most positions offering a focus on traditional Commercial Banking. Some offices are specialty group-focused, so you may receive placement within one of the following industry groups: Agriculture, Beverage, Environmental, Governmental, Healthcare, Higher Education, Non-profit, or Technology.

Responsibilities

You will become an integral part of a team and have the opportunity to assume significant responsibility that may include:
  • Analyzing a company’s financial, operational, and management strengths and weaknesses to minimize capital, balance sheet, and reputation risk
  • Representing the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships with less complex clients and generating revenues
  • Actively participating with the most senior relationship managers in the completion of major transactions for the most complex clients
  • Originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to investment banking, traditional commercial lending, treasury management and/or other credit related products
  • Preparing company annual financial reviews as well as underwriting memorandums focusing on a company’s leverage, key risk factors, sources of repayment, cash flow, and ability to service debt
  • Reviewing and assisting in negotiating loan agreements and ancillary documents related to the closing of a transaction
  • Understanding client needs and identifying potential cross-sell opportunities for other Wells Fargo products and services


Program Overview

Candidates hired into the Relationship Manager role will be given an in-depth understanding of day-to-day responsibilities of a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager. Once hired into this role, you will receive exposure to both sales and credit functions in a Regional Commercial Banking Office (RCBO) located in major cities throughout the United States. Participants will receive a comprehensive professional and educational experience through classroom training and on-the-job training as you work alongside team members who are experts in their field.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years account relationship or credit management experience

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to develop and maintain client relationships; generate revenue. Actively participate with the most senior relationship managers in the completion of major transactions. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills. Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability

  • Experience in analysis of market or industry financial reporting
  • Experience in financial statements, projections and financial modeling
  • Experience in cross-sell
  • Exposure in underwriting

Preferred Qualifications
  • A second year MBA student working to obtain a master’s degree in business administration with coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance
  • Professional experience in commercial banking or related industry through internships, part-time or full-time work, and/or extra-curricular activities in analyzing financial statements and assessing companies
  • An individual who demonstrates a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
