QuickBooks® Account Number Change Guide

You have been notified that you need to update your Account Number within your software. Please follow the below instructions for all supported versions of QuickBooks (QuickBooks 2016 or later). Note: QuickBooks versions prior to 2016 have been retired by Intuit and cannot be used with Online Banking and/or Bill Pay through QuickBooks with Wells Fargo.

After the change of your accounts(s), if you do not make these updates within your software, you will not be able to download your most recent transactions or request transfers. However, these service features will be re-established once you make these important changes.

Before You Begin

  • Download your account history with the old account to receive final transactions that occurred and update your register one last time. If you do not download by the date in your communication, you can refer to your Wells Fargo Online® statement or Credit Card account statement and manually enter the transactions into your software.
  • We recommend that you back up your files before continuing.
  • Update your payee list. If you are using Wells Fargo's Bill Pay service to pay your Wells Fargo account, please be sure to update the new account number in your payee list prior to your next scheduled payment.
