Wells Fargo Advisors' Services and Fees

Wells Fargo Advisors offer investment advisory and brokerage services. A good Financial Advisor can provide investment, retirement, estate and college planning guidance. But the Financial Advisor you work with only makes an investment recommendation after understanding your personal situation, risk tolerance, and goals.

At Wells Fargo Advisors, we offer investment advisory and brokerage services, and your Financial Advisor can help determine which ones are suitable for you.
Some Financial Advisors are specialists with extra training in topics like retirement planning and financial planning.
Here are some questions and answers that explain what Financial Advisors do, how they’re paid, and how they can help you achieve your financial goals:
What is Wells Fargo Advisors?
Wells Fargo Advisors is one of the nation’s largest retail brokerage firms. Wells Fargo Advisors is a subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company, one of America’s largest and strongest financial institutions, which has been in business since 1852.
How can a Financial Advisor help me?
Each Financial Advisor offers a broad range of services to assist you in reaching your financial goals: investment planning for your short- and long-term goals; retirement planning and programs (including IRAs, 401(k) plans, and IRA rollovers); estate planning to help establish a legacy, and college planning to estimate how much money you’ll need to put away for college.

Some Financial Advisors are specialists with extra training in retirement planning, investment management, or financial planning. They sometimes have designations such as Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor or Chartered Financial Analyst.
What does it cost to work with a Financial Advisor?
That varies. In some instances, you and your Financial Advisor may decide it’s appropriate to hire a manager for your portfolio, and you’ll pay an annual fee equal to a percentage of the assets in your account.

In other instances, you may prefer to actively participate in the investment decision-making process. Then, you’ll likely pay commissions each time you buy an investment, such as a stock, bond, or mutual fund.

Comprehensive investment planning services are also available. With those, you’ll be charged a one-time advisory fee to create a comprehensive investment plan.
How does a Financial Advisor decide which investments to recommend to me?
A Financial Advisor only makes an investment recommendation after being certain that it would be suitable for you based on your investment objective, risk tolerance, tax status, and other financial information you’ve provided.

Your Financial Advisor will also make recommendations by working together with you using EnvisionSM, the Wells Fargo Advisors’ investment-planning process. An Envision plan can help you uncover goals, determine which are the most (and least) important, and track your progress toward them. After creating your Envision plan, you and your Financial Advisor will monitor its progress, and then make adjustments along the way due to changes in your life, the economy, or the markets.
