“There are limitless opportunities for those who wish to go far and apply themselves. It's exciting to be involved with a company that is so innovative — I am anxious to see what the future holds for us all.”

Job title:
Compliance Manager, Home Mortgage-Enterprise Risk Management Group
Location: Silver Springs, Maryland
Years at Wells Fargo: 8
  • About my mentorship experience: “Everyone I have worked for has been a mentor in one way or another, some mentoring with all of the positive traits of managers, and others the less desirable ones. I was lucky to come into the company and work directly for managers who have both strong vision and the trust to allow Team Members to act independently. Various mentors have also shown me the entrepreneurial atmosphere here at Wells Fargo. Most of my mentors also have had a strong and genuine concern for the well being of others.”

  • Changing careers within Wells Fargo: “I have worked in three offices at Wells Fargo — Frederick, Maryland, then Charlotte, North Carolina, and finally Silver Spring, Maryland, — all were great learning experiences. The company has been very accommodating to me and many others to find optimal locations for Team Members. In 1999, I moved from a business unit to a support unit during a consolidation. Though I was not receptive to change at the time, it turned out to be a great opportunity for me. I believe that to succeed in life you must be open and willing to make changes that will ultimately help you achieve your personal goals.”

  • Involvement with Diversity Councils or Team Member Resource Groups: “While not a member of any specific TMRG, I am on the Steering Council for the Home Mortgage Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender outreach effort. I have enjoyed the opportunity to expand this market within Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and partner with other Wells Fargo Business Groups.

  • Favorite things about Wells Fargo: “I love the history of this company and its important role in America's history. I love the compassion for Team Members and the genuine commitment to do the right thing. There are limitless opportunities for those who wish to go far and apply themselves. It's exciting to be involved with a company that is so innovative — I am anxious to see what the future holds for us all.”
