National Grants

We focus our philanthropy on three key areas: housing affordability, financial health, and small business growth.

We're committing $1 billion over the next six years to help American families find safe, affordable homes. In 2020, we're implementing a $20 million Housing Affordability Breakthrough Innovation Challenge. It's bringing forward new housing affordability ideas in the areas of finance, construction, and residential support services.

If you'd like to apply for a national grant, begin by introducing your organization to the Wells Fargo representative most relevant to the sector you serve. All national grants require an invitation code to use in our online application.

Focus areas and goals

Housing affordability

We are working to reduce the burden of housing costs and increase access to safe, affordable places to live. This includes transitional housing, rentals, and home ownership. Our target audience is individuals and families historically shut out of the market.

Financial health

We're helping to improve the financial health of low- and moderate-income Americans through consumer education programs and innovative financial services. We provide information for all stages of life, from creating a budget to building good credit.

Small business growth

We strengthen communities and help create local jobs by investing in underserved small business owners. We fund financing, technical assistance and networks of support for entrepreneurs.
