Wealth and Investment Management Analyst Program

Program description

The Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) Analyst Program is ideal for recent undergraduates interested in working in a collaborative environment focused on providing exceptional client service. As a WIM analyst you will:

  • Gain a deeper knowledge of the financial services industry through hands-on experience in one of the lines of business within the division. Lines of business include Wealth Management, Abbot Downing, Wells Fargo Advisors, Retirement and WIM staff roles, Wells Fargo Investment Institute and Wells Fargo Asset Management.
  • Participate in a 10 month professional development experience that supplements your full-time role within WIM. It includes a Strength Finder workshop, communication and presentation skill development, business writing, product and market educational sessions and project team assignments to support strategic initiatives that will be presented to the WIM Operating Committee at the end of the program.
  • Get exposure to key leaders, group project work, professional development sessions, coaching and mentoring.

Opportunities

The program offers a wide variety of opportunities within our lines of business, with locations centered in Charlotte, St. Louis, Phoenix and Brentwood TN. Position location is determined by business need, is tied to the business function, and is not flexible. Applicants are encouraged to be open to relocation, for which a small stipend is provided.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily contact with leaders at all levels of the organization including senior management, team members, individual contributors and vendors.
  • Provide customer service to clients and internal team members as necessary.
  • Understand processes and work flows to make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Bring closure to issues, questions and requests. Solve problems independently.
  • Understand business needs and provide possible solutions by explaining in clear verbal and/or written communications to customers and/or management.
  • Consistently learn new systems, applications, processes and techniques.
  • Lead or participate in projects or support activities, which are moderate in size and organization span.

Required Qualifications

Successful candidates must demonstrate academic aptitude, distinguished written and verbal communication and presentation skills, exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, and proven ability to take on significant responsibility. Additionally, we prefer:

  • 3+ months professional experience through internships, part-time, or full-time work, and/or demonstrated leadership experience in a community setting

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize tasks, manage time, set priorities and deadlines
  • Intermediate PC and Microsoft Office applications experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email Systems)
  • Demonstrated experience successfully collaborating with others in a change driven environment
  • Four year undergraduate degree obtained between December 2014 and May 2016
  • Proven completion of coursework in business, economics, finance and accounting, marketing, communications, english or related fields
  • Ability and availability to travel based on business needs
  • Relevant exposure to the financial services industry

Note

There is an expectation that Analysts will stay in their role for at least two years.

Wealth and Investment Management Internship Program

Program description 

In the WIM Internship Program, participants will have the opportunity to understand the day-to-day responsibilities of a full-time team member, and will gain comprehensive professional and industry experience. Over the course of ten weeks, participants will also complete a group project, gain exposure to senior leaders, participate in a community service project and benefit from coaching and performance feedback sessions. WIM Interns will also participate in the Wells Fargo Corporate Internship virtual learning series.

The WIM Internship Program consists of two tracks: Cross WIM and WIM Financial Advisor (FA).

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry
