Please print these instructions so that you may refer to them during the download and installation of your browser upgrade.
We recommend that, prior to proceeding with the download procedure, you quit any other programs you may have open on your computer.
After printing the instructions, you are ready to begin.
Upgrade Internet Explorer Browser
1. Go to Microsoft's Windows Update page.
Windows Update will scan your computer to provide you with a selection of updates that only apply to your computer. A list of categories will appear with the number of updates that are available in each category. Click the Start button, click All Programs, an then click Windows Update, if the scan does not begin immediately.

2. Select and install updates.
- All critical updates should be automatically selected for installation during the scan for available updates. These updates are provided to help resolve known issues and to protect your computer from security vulnerabilities.
- Click each category to select the updates you want. To learn more about the updates, click the More information link.
- When you are done selecting all the updates you want, click on the OK button, and then click Install updates button.
3. Restart computer if necessary.
- Some updates require that you restart your computer.
- If your computer asks you if you want to restart your computer, click on Yes.
- If your computer does not ask you if you want to restart your computer, follow your normal procedure of turning off your computer.
- The next time you turn on your computer and open your browser, your upgrade will take effect.
Congratulations! You have now upgraded your browser.
