You may get this message when attempting to enroll for or access Wells Fargo Online® with an outdated, beta, or newly-released browser. You may also experience this problem after installing new software on your computer.
To find the list of hardware and software requirements, including browsers we support, for Wells Fargo Online, see our Hardware and Software Requirements.
If you receive this error after installing the latest release of your browser, please be aware there may be a delay following a new browser release before we approve it for accessing accounts online. Prior to approval, Wells Fargo insures that new browser releases meet our stringent security standards.
From the moment account information leaves your computer to the time it enters Wells Fargo’s system, all online access and Bill Pay sessions are encrypted. Wells Fargo employs some of the strongest forms of encryption commercially available for use on the Web today.
During any transaction, our 128-bit encryption turns your information into a coded sequence with billions of possible variations, making it nearly impossible for unwanted intruders to decipher. Wells Fargo’s computers possess the proper formulas to turn this code back into meaningful information and complete your transaction.
Any Web address beginning with “https://...” indicates the page you are viewing uses encryption. The “s” stands for “secured.” Every page on wellsfargo.com, whether you have signed on or not, is secure.
Your browser must be able to accept cookies. You will not be able to access any secured pages if you set your privacy setting to Block All Cookies. For instructions on how to set your browser to accept cookies, see Online Troubleshooting.
If you are using Internet Explorer, we also suggest that you set your privacy setting to Medium High or High. Click Tools in the browser tool bar, then Internet Options, then the Privacy tab.
For security reasons, browsers occasionally "expire" their ability to perform sensitive transactions such as Internet banking. In order to maintain our high degree of customer security, Wells Fargo does not allow you to access your accounts online using an expired browser. To continue to access your Wells Fargo account(s) online, some customers will need to upgrade to a newer supported version of their preferred browser.
If you are using the latest release of your browser, please be aware that there may be a delay in our support of the new browser release while we conduct a review to ensure it meets our security standards. We recommend that you download and install a supported browser until the new version is officially supported.
